TalkPad The Dyslexia Podcast
Changing the Conversation: How Our Dyslexia Podcast Celebrated Strengths, Not Struggles
Why did we make a Dyslexia podcast? For far too long, dyslexia has been portrayed as a disadvantage, often misunderstood and surrounded by negativity. Tired of seeing only the challenges highlighted, the former See No Bounds team, including motivational speaker Jamie McAnsh, teamed up with leading dyslexia expert Guy Brewer, founder of Golexia, to do something different. Together, they created a TalkPad – The dyslexia podcast that would shift perceptions, challenge stereotypes, and shine a spotlight on the strengths and successes of people living with dyslexia.
Why We Started Our Dyslexia Podcast
The idea behind the podcast was simple: to start a new conversation about dyslexia. Instead of focusing on what people with dyslexia struggle with, we wanted to focus on what they achieve — how they adapt, innovate, and thrive. We wanted to move beyond labels and limitations, bringing forward stories of resilience, creativity, and unique thinking.
Every month, the podcast welcomed either a professional working in the field of dyslexia, from education specialists to workplace inclusion advocates, or a guest who lives with dyslexia and has built success by thinking differently. These incredible conversations were designed not just to educate, but to inspire.
What Made Our Dyslexia Podcast Different
This wasn’t just another podcast about dyslexia challenges. It was a platform that celebrated neurodiversity and individual journeys. Our guests included entrepreneurs, athletes, creatives, and everyday heroes who had embraced their dyslexia and used it as a catalyst for success.
Listeners could expect real, raw, and relatable conversations — whether it was about overcoming barriers in education, breaking through stigma in the workplace, or finding new ways to problem-solve and lead.
We also featured leading experts who shared advice on how to better support children and adults with dyslexia, making the podcast a valuable resource for parents, teachers, employers, and anyone wanting to build a more inclusive world.
The Legacy of the Podcast
Although the series has now come to a close, the impact it made continues to ripple outwards. Our dyslexia podcast created a space where people felt seen, heard, and valued. It opened up honest discussions about how society can better embrace neurodiversity, while also offering hope and encouragement to those living with dyslexia today.
We are proud to have contributed to a growing movement that recognises dyslexia not as a disability, but as a different way of thinking — one that brings innovation, imagination, and incredible strength into the world.
The conversations may have ended, but the mission continues: to challenge outdated narratives, inspire new thinking, and celebrate all the amazing things people with dyslexia bring to our communities.
Final Thoughts
If there’s one thing we learned from creating our dyslexia podcast, it’s that dyslexia is not something to be hidden or overcome — it’s something to be understood, embraced, and celebrated. Every story shared, every expert insight offered, and every listener who tuned in helped move the needle a little closer toward a more inclusive, understanding world.
Stay tuned — because even though this chapter has finished, we are only just getting started.
