Resilience & Mental Health
Being a resilience and mental health speaker gives me a platform to support a wide range of audiences.
Resilience and mental health are not abstract ideas or buzzwords. They are lived, tested, and shaped through moments of challenge, uncertainty, and change. For me, it’s lived experiences that I share through my writing and speaking.
Drawing on lived experience and professional work with individuals and organisations, this space explores what resilience really looks like when life does not go to plan, and how mental health, identity, and wellbeing intersect in both personal and professional environments.
The focus here is on honest reflection, practical insight, and building strength in ways that are human, realistic, and sustainable.
This content is written for individuals, leaders, and organisations navigating change, challenge, and uncertainty.

Adapting Your Goals: How to Stay Flexible and Keep Moving Forward

The Seven Stages of Life
A Modern Reflection on the Human Journey Introduction As we move through life, we all go through the seven stages of Life; these changes are physical, emotional, and mental. While William Shakespeare’s “Seven Ages of Man” offered a poetic (and at times dramatic) view of human development, the underlying idea still holds weight today: we…

Resilience is a skill.
I genuinely believe Resilience is a skill. When people hear my story – waking up paralysed overnight, learning to walk again with leg braces, surviving a suicide attempt, climbing mountains, representing Wales in sport – they often say, “You must be so strong,” or “I could never go through that.” Here’s the truth: I didn’t have…

Mental strength from climbing Kilimanjaro
Mental strength from climbing Kilimanjaro. When people think of climbing a mountain like Kilimanjaro, they picture breathtaking views, personal triumph, and ticking off a bucket list goal. But for me, climbing Africa’s highest peak wasn’t about the summit photo. It was about confronting the limits of my mind far more than the limits of my…

The power of listening. In the darkest moment of my life, it wasn’t a solution that saved me. It wasn’t advice, a treatment plan, or a rescue mission. It was one question. And someone who stayed long enough to hear the answer. This is a story about the power of listening, not just hearing, but…
